Tropical Storm Erin forms over the eastern tropical Atlantic
The fifth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, Tropical Storm Erin, formed over the eastern tropical Atlantic on Monday morning. Erin is the first “Cabo Verde” type tropical cyclone of the year, which are typically long-lived tropical cyclones that form from African easterly waves off the coast of west Africa.
