Today is June 1, the official start date of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. So far, no tropical cyclones have formed in the North Atlantic basin in 2025. Most forecasters, including Cyclonic Fury, are predicting a slightly above average (but not hyperactive) hurricane season this year. The following names will be used for tropical cyclones in the North Atlantic basin this year:

When will the season start?
Tropical cyclone development does not appear imminent in the North Atlantic basin, with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) outlook currently predicting no tropical cyclone development chances within the next seven days. There is a slight chance that a non-tropical area of low pressure could acquire some tropical characteristics off the United States southeast coast by late this week, though model support is minimal at this time and development appears very unlikely. Looking farther out, some GEFS and EPS members have showed potential for tropical cyclone development over the Northwestern Caribbean or Gulf from a Central American Gyre (CAG) in the 10-14 day range. This would coincide with a favorable MJO/CCKW passage, though it remains too far out to discuss development probabilities.
